Building the Collaborative
In the spring of 2015 a call for proposal from the New Horizons for Seniors Program saw five Nanaimo organizations join forces to create Seniors Connect, a collective impact model project. Nanaimo was one of nine Pan Canadian projects to be funded across the country and the only one on Vancouver Island. The collective experience, expertise, proven success and extensive networks of the five collaborating organizations will ensure achievement of the overall goal. Each organization through a diverse set of programs and activities is contributing to a population level outcome of the reduction of social isolation of adults 55+ in Nanaimo by 2019.
